Privacy policy

CAVU Aerial is a drone photography, mapping and roof report business run by Your LLC Name in Florida ("we", "us"). This policy covers this website, the client portal and the work we fly for you.
What we collect
- Your contact details: name, email and phone number, when you book a shoot, order a roof report or are added to a client account.
- Job details: property addresses, the times you pick, notes you send, the roof you mark on a map, and messages and requests you leave in the portal.
- What we capture and make: aerial photos, video, maps, 3D models, measurements and roof reports of the property you ask us to fly or measure. Original photos keep their GPS location; downloads other than "Original" have it removed.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We see whether an invoice was paid; we never see or store your card number.
- Sign-in: a 6-digit code emailed to you, and a cookie that keeps you signed in. That cookie, and the one a share link sets, are needed for the portal to work.
- Visits to this site: the page, the site or ad that sent you, and whether you're on a phone or computer. We count visits without cookies: your IP address and browser are turned into a code that changes every day and can't be traced back to you, and the IP address itself isn't kept. Visit records are deleted after about 13 months.
Advertising
When we advertise on Google, the site loads Google's tag so Google can tell us which ads led to a booking or an order. Google sets its own cookies to do that and handles that data under Google's privacy policy. You can limit ad personalization in Google's ad settings or block the tag with a content blocker; the site works the same either way.
How we use it
- To plan and fly your job, get airspace authorization, deliver your files and send invoices.
- To email you sign-in codes, booking confirmations, delivery notices and replies to your messages. We don't send newsletters or sell your details.
- To make AI photo edits and roof report drafts when you or we ask for them.
- To see which pages and ads bring customers, so we spend less on the ones that don't.
Who else handles it
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Cloudflare hosts this site, our database and the files we deliver.
- Google Cloud processes photos, maps and roof reports for us; the files themselves are kept at Cloudflare.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI process a photo and your instructions when you ask for an AI edit. Anthropic also checks roof report drafts, looks over the drone photos of a roof for a roof inspection, and answers questions asked in the map tools. Neither may use the data to train their models under the terms we use them on.
- TypeSafe screens the text of edit requests for problems before they run.
- Public map services (the U.S. Census Bureau, USGS, the Florida Department of Transportation, the National Laboratory of the Rockies, the FAA and the National Weather Service) receive a property's address or location to look up its lidar, aerial photos, solar estimate, electric utility, airspace and forecast.
- Google receives ad-click data when the advertising tag is on, as described above.
We don't sell or rent personal information. We'd disclose it if the law requires us to, for example in response to a subpoena.
Neighbors and people on the ground
We fly to photograph the property we were hired for, under FAA Part 107 and Florida law. Neighboring properties and people can appear incidentally at the edges of wide shots. If you see yourself or your property in our work and want it blurred or removed, email us and we will do so.
How long we keep it
We keep your galleries, reports and account while you're a client so you can come back to your files. Ask us and we'll delete them, unless we must keep something such as invoice records for taxes. Booking requests whose emailed code was never entered, and expired sign-in codes, are deleted automatically.
Your choices
Email hello@roofreportfl.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We'll answer within 30 days.
Children
This site and our services are for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Security
The site uses HTTPS, sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes and are stored only as hashes, and every gallery is checked against your account before it's shown. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as Florida law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For a significant change, we'll also email clients with an active account.
